In Latin America and the Caribbean, approximately one-third of the population identifies as Afro-descendant or Indigenous. However, significant knowledge gaps persist, limiting countries' ability to design and implement public policies that fully address the specific needs of these groups. In recent years, a growing body of research is shedding new light on the relationship between race, ethnicity, and opportunity. This emerging evidence is helping to shape more effective policies and programs to promote shared prosperity.
